Public Health
A healthier Pawnee, one advisory at a time.
Our mission
To protect and improve the health of every Pawnee resident through prevention, education, monitoring, and a realistic understanding of local dietary tradition.
The Department of Public Health monitors community health indicators, operates immunization and screening clinics, inspects food establishments, and issues public health advisories as needed, which historically has been often.
Following the 2014 Eagleton consolidation, the department also operates the former Eagleton wellness campus, whose juice bar has been converted to a flu shot clinic.
Leadership

Dr. Richard Harris, MD
Director, Public Health
Dr. Harris has directed the Pawnee Department of Public Health through several municipal health events, including the 2011 fluoride situation, the Sweetums nutritional review, and multiple raccoon-adjacent advisories. He describes the city's overall health outlook as "honestly, better than you'd think."
