Police
Serving Pawnee with professionalism and patience.
Our mission
To protect the people of Pawnee through fair, transparent, community-centered policing, and to maintain a working relationship of mutual respect with the raccoon population.
The Pawnee Police Department provides 24-hour patrol, investigations, school resource officers, and community outreach programs. The department emphasizes de-escalation and neighborhood engagement.
For emergencies, always dial 911. For non-emergencies, including nearly all raccoon matters, use the non-emergency line below.
Leadership
Hugh Trumple
Chief of Police
Chief Trumple has led the Pawnee Police Department for over a decade, prioritizing community policing, transparency, and de-escalation training. He asks residents to please stop calling the emergency line about raccoons unless the raccoon is armed, which has happened once.
